Healthy Homemade Chocolate
(Dairy-free, Sugar-free)

If you're looking to cut back on sugar yet still want to be able to enjoy a chocolatey treat then this homemade chocolate recipe is a must try!

This has quickly become one of my staples in my diet to give me a sweet treat at any time of the day....guilt free! Plus provide me a nice healthy dose of fat from an incredible source of organic coconut oil.

It's super simple to make. It's dairy-free, gluten-free, and can be Paleo-friendly if you omit the peanut butter or swap it for something like almond butter.

I personally make this a couple times a week to have on hand when a sugar craving comes on or just want something yummy to eat as a night time snack. But you can have this any time of day! It's loaded with tons of healthy fats that are bodies need.

Get creative with this recipe! You can just make a plain chocolate -- maybe add a sprinkle of salt on top for that sweet & salty combo. I've also tried adding crushed walnuts or slivered almonds or cashews. Make it your own with different ingredients. Just make sure to share with me what you added so I can try it 🙂

Check out the video below of my Candida Yeast journey recently. And how this specific chocolate recipe has actually helped my recovery (and my sanity haha)! Along with reaping many other benefits of consuming coconut oil of course.

Watch the video below to see exactly how you can start making it for yourself! I forgot to mention at the end that I store the extra chocolate in the freezer with a lid on the container. Or for a softer chocolate you can store in the fridge. Either way works!

Here's just a super quick video of how to make it. This way you can easily come back to this without watching my entire video above. I know you are busy and just need the quick low-down or simplified version to have on hand.

Ingredients:

4 TB Organic, unrefined coconut oil
4 tsp Unsweetened cocoa powder
Stevia powder - I use 1 heaping baby spoon that came with the bottle of Stevia Select.
4 tsp natural peanut butter (optional)

Directions

1. Using a shallow dish that is freezer safe, add the coconut oil and peanut butter if making a peanut butter chocolate. Place in the microwave for a few seconds to melt the coconut oil to a liquid.

2. Add the cocoa powder. Add the stevia powder using a very tiny amount. It's powerful stuff! You can always add a pinch more if needed.

3. Stir ingredients till well combined. Place container in the freezer for 15 minutes, until chocolate has hardened.

4. Break into small pieces and enjoy!

Servings: 2 to 4
Serving Size: 1/4 to 1/2 of the chocolate is equivalent to consuming 1-2 TB of coconut oil.
