Homemade Taco Seasoning
I LOVE making my own taco seasoning. I'll never go back to the store-bought packets.
Sadly, majority of store bought taco seasoning contains some nasty ingredients that I'd much rather stay away from.
If you’ve been wondering how to replace those small packets with something better, you should give this recipe for homemade taco seasoning a try.
It's so easy to make, tastes a heck of a lot better AND you know what's going into your food.
Is it easy to just buy the packet? I'd say yes. However, it's also easy to add some seasonings yourself. And for me, I'd rather have the natural seasonings only....not the partially hydrogenated soybean oil (trans fat), caramel color, sunflower and/or cottonseed oil or whatever else may be in there.
Store in bulk to save time: If you take just a few minutes to make a big batch, you will already have some ready to go in your pantry. Fresh, the way you like!
Ingredients:
1 TB Chili Powder
¼ tsp Garlic Powder
¼ tsp Onion Powder
¼ tsp Dried Oregano
½ tsp Paprika
1 ½ tsp Cumin
Salt & Pepper, to taste
Directions
1.Measure and mix all ingredients together into a small bowl then add to your food. Or sprinkle each into the food as you go.
2.You can save time by doubling, tripling or more of these measurements and storing the seasoning mix in a small air tight bowl or container for later use.
