DIY Trail Mix

Ingredients I used:

Raw Almonds, salted
Cashews
Walnuts
Sunflower seeds, salted
Peanuts
Chocolate chips (regular or dairy-free)
Unsweetened coconut flakes (optional)

Other ingredients to try:

Pistachios, shelled
Brazil nuts
Macadamia nuts
Pecans
Hazelnuts
Baby pumpkin seeds (pepitas)
Cocoa nibs
No-sugar added dried fruits like cherries, cranberries, banana chips, dates, apricots, raisins, goji berries (Sulfur Dioxide-free, if possible)

Instructions:

1. Mix all ingredients in a glass or bpa-free tupperware container to store easily.

2. Healthy fats calories add up quickly. To help with portion control, keep a 1/4 cup measuring cup handy. It equals close to 1 oz serving.  I recommend keeping it to 1-2 servings at a time. If you do not have a measuring cup handy, use the palm of your hand as a guide. 1 oz serving is about a handful.
