Turkey Wraps

These turkey wrap roll-ups are yummy! I think it's a great alternative to the typical turkey sandwich using bread.
You can also try putting the turkey, cheese, avocado on big romaine leaves too. It adds a nice crunch to it.
Of course I like "balance" in my meals and snacks. So you'll need some fibrous carbs to go with it. Add any raw veggies you like to have on the side. Baby carrots, bell pepper strips, cucumber slices, etc. Or a serving of fruit. Maybe even some gluten free crackers you like.
Or if you just can't go without bread, try this recipe on a piece of sprouted grains or gluten free bread. Ezekiel 4:9 , Udi's or Rudi's are a few brand options.
* If you added enough turkey, this could make an excellent quick lunch for yourself! Typically main meals like Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner are higher in calories than snacks. So up the grams of protein (aim for 2 1/2 to 3 oz turkey), keep your cheese and avocado, and make sure you get enough fibrous carbs in with it and you'd be set!
Ingredients:
Sliced sodium nitrite-free turkey breast (about 2 oz)
1 cheese stick, split length-wise into 3 strips (Or use shredded cheese)
1/8 of an avocado, sliced into 3 strips
Mustard (optional)
Directions
- Lay down turkey and spread mustard, if desired.
- Add cheese and avocado slices.
- Wrap! If you don’t want to make 3 wraps, make one big one instead!
- Enjoy bell pepper strips (or any other veggies) on the side to make this a balanced snack.
*If you eat dairy-free, swap the cheese for sprouts or lettuce.
