I'd Prefer Recipes to Meet All the Criteria Below:
1) Gluten Free
2) Low in sugar, added sugar, or it's sugar free
3) No artificial sweeteners (Sucralose, Aspartame, Acesulfame-K, Saccharin)
4) No MSG (Monosodium Glutamate)
5) No Trans Fat (Hydrogenated or Partially-hydrogenated Oils)
6) Dairy Free (Optional)
7) Fairly short ingredients list; like 10 or less
8) Mainly consists of commonly found ingredients (in store or online)
My criteria may seem hard or a little strict but really if you think about it...we should be eating this way!!
You want to lose weight, burn fat, have toned muscle, feel amazingly energized and have vibrant health?! Aim to eat meals & snacks that meet the criteria above even 80% of your week and you'll see AMAZING results in your body and health, I guarantee it!
I'm not here to give you recipes filled with sugary junk and processed foods and tell you it's "healthy". There's enough of those websites out there! That's why so many women still struggle losing the weight and their health is going down the drain.
My goal is to provide a "safe place" for you to come find and try new, healthy and delicious recipes that you and your family enjoy eating. To NOT feel like you're dieting. To NOT feel restricted. And show you just how easy and yummy healthy eating can be!
And by you sharing your recipe favorites or finds with the Toned In 20 Community, it benefits more than just yourself. YOU are helping impact women's lives as well! So THANK YOU in advance for helping me grow this Recipes section for all of us to benefit from.
Here are Just a Few Tips:
Recipes categories are: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks, Dessert, Smoothies & Drinks, Salad Dressings/Sauces/Condiments. Just send them in & I'll help decide where to categorize them on the site.
Quick. Easy. Healthy. is the name of the game to keep in mind. Let's face it, if there's a long list of ingredients and takes a lot of time to make... for most of us, it ain't gonna happen.
I love crock pot recipes! I'd say crock pot/slow cooker recipes are the exception when it comes to "time". Even though most take several hours to cook they are a GREAT option. You basically throw in some ingredients, walk away, and hours later it's ready to serve and there's usually leftovers for the next day!
"Paleo" recipes are typically good options when searching for healthy meals/snacks to try. If you're not sure what Paleo is just Google it or Pinterest has a lot of ideas.
To Submit Recipes for Consideration:
1)
Email recipes to Laura@bodiesbybench.com with the phrase
"Recipe Idea" in the Subject Title.
2) You must have personally tried the recipe and liked it.
3)
Include the recipe - provide the website link, or take a photo image of the full recipe if it's one you have at home or in a cook book, or type it out in the email. Mention any tweaks you made from the original recipe, if necessary. (Ex: You used coconut oil instead of olive oil for baking)
4)
What did you like about it or how did it turn out? Include a sentence or two of what you liked about the food and any cooking/baking tips that may be helpful for us that you discovered.
5)
Include a picture of the food! Send a few if you like. That way we can see the finished outcome and/or parts of the process. It doesn't have to be fancy but please take it in good lighting. If you're creative and good at taking pics, then by all means have fun with it! Make the food pics look as yummy & "Pinterest-worthy" as you like 🙂
Your name will be credited for sharing the recipe & added to the site as "Submitted by: (Your First & Last Name)" If you want to remain anonymous, please let me know in the email. If I don't hear from you regarding this, I assume you're ok with it.
