Healthier Chip Options
Who doesn't love having potato chips once in a while? I know I do! They are crunchy, salty and are quick to grab. However, there are many poor choices available with ingredients that are doing more harm than good for us and our family.
That's why in today's video I show you several examples and reasons why certain ones should be left on the shelf at the grocery store. Not only to help your waistline, but your long-term health as well.
Some women will say, "well they're for the kids". My question to that is...if you now know certain chips aren't good for you to be eating, then why would you want to feed it to your growing child?
Let's start making healthier choices not only for our future, but for our children's and grandchildren's future. 1 out of 3 kids in America is considered obese or overweight. It's time to start making some healthier swaps.
I don't expect every woman to give up potato chips or tortilla chips for the rest of their lives. If you can, awesome! But for majority, it'd be hard.
That's why in this video I also provide several examples of "healthier" choices for potato chips and tortilla chips so that you can still enjoy and incorporate them into your balanced diet once in a while.
I mention several brands that are labeled with the "Non-GMO Project". This only verifies that a product doesn’t contain genetically modified (GMO) ingredients (or technically less than 0.9% GMOs). But it doesn't necessarily mean it is all organic.
However, if you find chips that are certified Organic, than it must also be Non-GMO to meet their standards. Just a little tid-bit of info in case you find organic chips. If you see both the USDA Organic symbol AND N0n-GMO Project symbol together...you know it's a much safer option.
Here is another brand of potato chips that is a healthier choice not mentioned in the video! They are by Jackon's Honest Chips. They are found at many health food stores or online. You can get more info here. They have several flavors. Main ingredients used is organic or non-gmo potatoes or sweet potatoes, coconut oil and salt.
